our story

The inspiration that led a mother of two autistic children to establish a nonprofit organization called "Leaving a Mark on the Spectrum" stemmed from her personal journey with her children. Witnessing the daily challenges, triumphs, and unique perspectives of her children navigating the world with autism ignited a passion within her to create a supportive community for families facing similar experiences. Through her own experiences, she recognized the importance of creating a safe space where individuals on the spectrum can thrive, be understood, and celebrated for who they are. By founding this organization, we aim to provide resources, support, and advocacy for individuals and families impacted by autism, with a vision of leaving a lasting mark on the autism community.

mEET THE FOUNDER

With a heart full of love and determination, at 25 years old, Genesis embarked on a unique journey of motherhood unlike any other. Raising four sons brought joy and challenges in equal measure, but her unwavering dedication shone through in every moment.

Two of her sons, gifted with bright minds and gentle souls, were diagnosed with autism. This revelation only fueled Genesis' commitment to understanding and supporting her children with even more love and patience. She dove headfirst into learning about autism, seeking out resources, and connecting with communities that offered guidance and empathy. From attending countless therapy sessions to researching the latest interventions, Genesis was always one step ahead, ready to tackle whatever came their way.

Through the highs and lows, Genesis remained a pillar of strength for her sons. She celebrated their victories, no matter how small, and embraced the unique perspective they brought into her life. She encouraged their individuality, nurturing their talents and passions with a tender touch.

As the years passed, Genesis's journey with her sons became a testament to the power of unconditional love and acceptance. Her story inspired others, showing that with love, understanding, and unwavering support, any challenge can be faced with grace and resilience. And in the end, it was not just her sons who grew, but Genesis herself, emerging as a beacon of hope and compassion in a world that often misunderstands differences.
